How the formula works
Blocks = Area ÷ ((Block Length + Mortar) × (Block Height + Mortar))
- Wall Area = Length × Height (in square meters)
- Block Coverage = (Block Length + Mortar) × (Block Height + Mortar)
- Blocks Required = Wall Area ÷ Block Coverage
- Waste Factor = Additional blocks for breakage (typically 5%)
- Total Blocks = Blocks Required × (1 + Waste Factor ÷ 100)
- Mortar Volume = Wall Volume × Mortar Ratio (approx 25% of wall volume)
- Total Cost = Total Blocks × Cost per Block
