How the formula works
BE Units = Fixed Costs ÷ (Price − Variable Cost per Unit)
- Fixed Costs = Costs that don't change with production volume
- Variable Cost = Cost per unit that changes with production
- Contribution Margin = Price − Variable Cost (profit per unit before fixed costs)
- Break Even = Point where total revenue = total costs
